Weather Update: Heavy rainfall spell likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha during next 2-3 days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a Heavy rainfall spell over the eastern part of India, including Odisha and Chhattisgarh over the next two-three days.

New Delhi: The Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from parts of southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Kutch on Tuesday. Notably, the normal withdrawal time of the monsoon from the region was September 17. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a Heavy rainfall spell over the eastern part of India, including Odisha and Chhattisgarh over the next two-three days.
Meanwhile, the Low-Pressure Area lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts. Pats of Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh are also likely to witness heavy showers during the coming few days.
The MeT Department, in its weather bulletin, said, "A trough runs from the Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining north OdishaWest Bengal coasts to southwest Uttar Pradesh across Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar & East Uttar Pradesh extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level."
Isolated heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is predicted over several states, including Odisha, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, over the coming few days. "Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Odisha & Telangana on 20th & 21st; north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar on 20th; Chhattisgarh and Marathwada during 20th -22nd; Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh during 20th-23rd; West Madhya Pradesh on 22nd & 23rd and Madhya Maharashtra on 21st & 22nd September, 2022."
Isolated heavy showers are expected over Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday. several parts of northeastern India are likely to receive heavy rainfall till September 22. "FWS/WS light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during 20th-24th; Assam & Meghalaya during 20th-23rd and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 20th-22nd September, 2022."
Meanwhile, the IMD had predicted Squally weather over r northwest and adjoining west-central and adjoining the northeast Bay of Bengal, along and off north Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal coasts, north parts of southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining the southeast Bay of Bengal on Tuesday.
