Recently there were reports doing the rounds that the film's budget has risen twofold, following a demand by Hrithik Roshan, where he reportedly refused to shoot in Uttar Pradesh and urged the makers to showcase the UP lanes by setting up lavish sets in Dubai. The massive change in the film's schedule and an extra set has now shot up the film's budget straight away two times.
For the unversed, Pushkar and Gayathri's Vikram Vedha will see Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan share screenspace. The movie is the official Hindi remake of R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil film of the same name.
Earlier today, film critic and trade analyst shared a statement issued by Reliance Entertainment, where they dismissed the rumours. The statement read, "We have been noticing a lot of misleading and totally unsubstantiated reporting on Vikram Vedha shooting locations. We clearly want to state that Vikram Vedha has been shot extensively in India, including Lucknow."

The statement further read, "A portion of the film was shot in the United Arab Emirates in October-November of 2021 since it was the only location providing the infrastructure for a bio-bubble that accommodated crew of such scale, also allowing building of sets in a studio during the preceding months of the shoot. We chose to do that out of health and protocol concerns. Any attempts to twist these set of facts are clearly mischievous and untruthful."
Reliance in its statement, also wrote that they would like to "emphatically" state that while they welcome suggestions from creative talent, the production and budgetary decisions are centralised.
Vikram Vedha is based on the Indian folk tale of Vikram and Betaal and follows the story of a tough police officer who sets out to track down and kill an equally tough gangster. The film is set to hit theatres on September 30.
