Mumbai logs 51 new Covid-19 cases, one fatality

As many as eight patients out of the 51 new cases are symptomatic and have been admitted to a hospital and four of them are on oxygen support.

Mumbai: The Metropolis on Monday logged 51 fresh cases of Covid-19 while one patient succumbed to the viral infection. The city currently has 717 active Covid cases, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
With this addition, the tally of total infections in the city rose to 11,49,832, while the death toll rose to 19,730, he said.
As per a bulletin issued by the BMC, eight out of 51 new patients are symptomatic and have been admitted to a hospital and four of them are on oxygen support.
At least 108 patients were undergoing treatment at hospitals. Nearly 65 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the financial capital to 11,29,385.
The new cases came out of the 3,848 swab samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of tests conducted so far to 1,82,80,761, the bulletin stated.
The recovery rate in the city stands at 98.2 per cent, while overall growth rate between September 19 and 25 is 0.009 per cent and doubling rate is at 7,566 days, it stated.
On Sunday, Mumbai logged 108 new Covid cases while no deaths due to the infection were seen in the city.
Maharashtra reported 541 cases of Covid-19 and two deaths. The total number of cases in the state was at 81,19,345 cases and the death toll rose to 1,48,329 on Sunday.
The two casualties were recorded in the regions of Nagpur and Navi Mumbai.
