It's no new news that Aamir Khan puts in more than just hard work and discipline when he signs a new film. Aamir clears his entire schedule for the whole year so that he can take his time to get into the skin of the character and prepare. After his last debacle with Thugs of Hindostan, the actor's Lal Singh Chaddha releases today. The early reviews have been coming in and the film has opened to a positive response.
Over the last few weeks, Aamir has been busy promoting the film and during a recent interaction, Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist opened up on a time when he was almost homeless due to his father's debt.
Although Aamir was born into a film family with his father Tahir Hussain being a film producer and uncle Nasir Hussain making hit films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Aamir claims that he wasn't born with a silver spoon.
In an interaction with Prajakta Koli, Aamir went on to add, "A lot of people say you are from the film industry because my father was a producer. Everyone assumes that when you are a film producer's son, you are rich. My father was not a good businessman. He always lost money. He made successful films but did not make money. We were always in debt for some reason.”
Aamir further went on to add that his father's film Locket took eight ears to make and that left him with a lot of debts. Further elaborating, Aamir said, "He had taken a lot of loans and at that time the rate of interest was 36 percent and there was a point of time that we were almost going to be homeless. Financially we were not well off but otherwise, we had a happy childhood. We've been through rough times, my father has struggled a lot. We haven't been financially secure but we had a good childhood."
Lal Singh Chaddha releases today and stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles.
