Specially-abled girl enjoys wheelchair-accessible pool for the first time; mum lauds inclusive design

A mother from the US has raised awareness about wheelchair-accessible swimming pools by sharing a video of her daughter's first experience in it. Katrina Placzek showed how the inclusive design made it possible for specially-abled children to enjoy a dip in the pool. The full clip is available on her YouTube channel 'Discover With Dallas'. "This amazing wheelchair-accessible pool is located at Tiff's Place near Orlando, Florida. This was the first time we ever seen a waterproof wheelchair. We loved how easy it was for Dallas to access the swimming pool. We had so much fun using the pool at this vacation home," Placzek wrote on YouTube. Her daughter was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and spastic cerebral palsy at an early age. For years now, she has been raising awareness about the need for inclusive designs in buildings and other public places. The video has amassed over 1.5 million views on Instagram.
