Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch 5G services in India tomorrow (1 October) as part of the IMC event. Additionally, PM Modi will also inaugurate the sixth edition of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. The IMC event is scheduled to be held from 1-4 October with the theme of “New digital Universe".
“5G technology will provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and highly reliable communications. It will increase energy efficiency, spectrum efficiency and network efficiency," the PMO said.
Taking India’s digital transformation & connectivity to new heights, Hon'ble PM, @narendramodi, will roll out 5G services in India; at India Mobile Congress; Asia’s largest technology exhibition,” tweeted National Broadband Mission.
Additionally, the official website of India Mobile Congress (IMC), stated that PM Modi will inaugurate the event and launch 5G services. The IMC is jointly organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), according to its website.
