  • Raveen Tandon hit back at trolls and is against this decision
After days of political turmoil in Maharashtra, the chaos has finally settled, and Eknath Shinde has been appointed as the newly sworn-in Maharashtra Chief Minister on June 30. A day after joining the government, Eknath and the deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the metro car shed will be built in Mumbai’s Aarey Colony.
Numerous celebrities put their step forward and voiced their opinion against the decision. And, reacting to the news, the Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon also repeated her earlier stance that the wildlife and the trees of the colony should be protected at all costs. The tweet went viral on social media platforms, and the users started questioning her opinion and called her ‘shameless.’
One of the users tweeted, “Do elite @deespeak @TandonRaveena @zoru75 know the struggle of middle class Mumbaikars?” Hitting back at the trolls, Raveena answered, “Everyone's life is not a bed of roses @SunainaHoley ji. Everyone has struggled to reach somewhere. I’m sure you have a house/care too. The days waves/flooding/natural disasters strike, it’ll effect the common man first. Elitists will be the first to run away to their Swiss chalet.”

Later the actress also tweeted how trolls spread blind hate across the world, she wrote, “The best on Twitter is, agenda-driven trolls often devour their own. Sensibilities aside. No unity. Just blind hate.
Another user questioned the diva when she last travelled to oppose Metro? Mohra actress tweeted, “Uptil 1991, I travelled like this. And being a girl also got physically harassed by nameless trolls like you. Before I started working, saw success and earned my first car, Troll ji. Nagpur ke ho, hara bhara hai aap ka city. Lucky. Don’t grudge anyone their success or earnings.”

She further added, "Teen yrs, travelled in locals/buses, got eve-teased, pinched, everything that most women go through, earned my first car in 92. Development is welcome, we have to b responsible, not only a project, but wherever we are cutting thru r forests, to safeguard the environment/wildlife.”
Talking about the issue of cutting hundreds of trees at Mumbai’s Aarey Colony for the metro projects, a few years ago many famous personalities from the entertainment industry including Dia Mirza, Raveena Tandon, Farhan Akhtar, Richa Chadha and among others opposed this issue. Then, the former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray stopped the construction and appointed a panel to look for alternative options.
