The Kashmir Files box office week 3: Anupam Kher's film continues to roar as it makes record-breaking feat with Rs 231 crore

Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi starrer The Kashmir Files is a blockbuster hit. The film, directed by Vivek Agnihotri has received a thumbs-up from the critics, audience and has been soaring at the box office. The film in now inching towards making Rs 250 crore.

Vivek Agnihotri took on the baton upon himself to tell a brave, gripping tale that will leave you feeling unsettled with The Kashmir Files. The film that released on March 11 stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Bhasha Sumbli in pivotal roles. The film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kashmir Files hasn't just received a thumbs-up from tinsel town celebs like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, but also PM Narendra Modi. It has also been declared tax-free in various states across the country. The film has been declared a blockbuster by making Rs 200 crore at the box office.
And now, as the film enters its third week, it's closely inching towards making Rs 250 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh went on to share the latest update on Twitter to write, "#TheKashmirFiles maintains a STRONG GRIP on [third] Mon... [Week 3] Fri 4.50 cr, Sat 7.60 cr, Sun 8.75 cr, Mon 3.10 cr. Total: ₹ 231.28 cr. #India biz."

SS Rajamouli's RRR released on March 25 and has already made Rs 500 crore within four days. The Kashmir Files has managed to stand on its feet despite the release of RRR and continues to mint money at the box office.
The film has courted various controversies including Bollywood's silence on its success. Kangana Ranaut went on to watch the movie and told the paparazzi outside the theatre that it's one of the best films ever made and film industry 'ke jitne bhi paap the, saare dhul gaye.' (Translation: Whatever sins committed by the film industry have been washed away with the release of this film).
