Ahead of the start of the rescheduled Test against the Ben Stokes-led side, the Indian team is fine-tuning their preparations in a four-day warm-up match against English county side Leicestershire.
In the match against the county side, Indian players were advised not to interact with the locals, but Rishabh Pant, who is among those cricketers who would not pay too much attention to caution, lived up to that reputation by signing autographs for kids and posing for photographs at the Grace Road County ground.
One of the broadcasters who was present at the ground tweeted the video, which showed the star Indian stumper signing autographs and then posing for the camera with the fans.
"Ground announcer at the #IndiaTourMatch: "During the course of #LEIvIND, India’s players will not be signing autographs or taking selfies with any fans." He then posted the video, which is getting a lot of traction on social media.
Rishabh Pant, who led India in the five-match T20I series against South Africa, which concluded last week, was one of the four Indian players who took the field for Leicestershire in the game against India.
In the first innings, the star player was back to his usual best and scored an 87-ball 76 against Rohit and Co. During his stay at the crease, the stylish left-handed batter scored 14 fours and a six against Umesh Yadav.
Pant is set to perform the wicketkeeping job in the one-off Test against England, which starts on July 1 at Edgbaston. Pant was struggling with form in the IPL 2022 as well as in the SA series but looked in great touch in the warm-up game.
