Suriya confirms being a part of Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake, reveals seeing Akshay Kumar as ‘Vir’ was ‘nostalgic’
Suriya shared a photo with Akshay from the sets of the yet untitled Hindi remake of his movie Soorarai Pottru. Sharing the photo, he also revealed that he will be doing a brief cameo in this movie. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has a number of upcoming projects in his kitty. One of them is the Hindi remake of actor Suriya’s popular movie Soorarai Pottru. There have been speculations doing rounds in media that Akshay has been roped in for playing the lead role in the Hindi remake. Now, taking to his social media, Suriya has confirmed that the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru is being headlined by Akshay Kumar.

Talking about the Tamil movie Soorari Pottru, the plot of the film was partly inspired by events from the life of Simplifly Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath as described in his memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. Featuring Suriya playing the lead role, the movie was released on the digital platform Amazon Prime Video on November 12, 2020. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film also starred Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu and others playing pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, speaking about Akshay Kumar, his other upcoming projects include Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, Mission Cinderella, Selfiee and OMG2.
