Shaakuntalam starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film, directed by Gunnasekar tells the story of Kalidas' celebrated play that revolves around Shakuntala and the wife of Dushyanta, and the mother of Emperor Bharata. A few weeks ago, the film came under the scanner when fans went on to wonder why the release date or an update hasn't been shared yet.
The producer of the film went on to reveal that they are aiming at delivering nothing but the best and good things take time. Rumours were rife that Samantha is unwell and her ill-health is the reason behind the film's delay. Amid those rumours, the actress went on to announce that the ambitious project will release on November 4.
Last evening, the makers released yet another statement to announce that the film's release has been postponed once again as they've changed their mind and plan to release the film in 3D.
The statement read, "We aim to give a bigger experience with Shaakuntalam and immerse you in the 'world of Shaakuntalam', for which we as a team felt 3D would be a brilliant way. To facilitate this, we would be taking some time to put forth and so, will be unable to meet the earlier announced date of release. We thank the support and love showered upon us, from around the world hoping for your support in this too! From around the world, hoping for your support in this too! We will be announcing the new release date soon."
On the work front, Samantha will next be seen in Yashoda and she has begun prepping for her role in Citadel.
