Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files is the talk of the town ever since its release on March 11. The film has been garnering appreciation from all corners of the country. Not just that, but the film has also started a political debate over it as it showcases the plight of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 and is currently breaking records at the box office.
Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh declares the film to be an epic blockbuster as it has managed to enter the Rs 200 crore club in just 14 days. Though the film had a slow start as it had lesser screens and low promotions, but it picked up great at the box-office in a few days. Positive word of mouth has been the best promotional strategy for the film.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Taran Adarsh showcased how The Kashmir Files had earned just Rs 3.55 crore on Day 1 and has now managed to mint a sum of Rs 207.33 crore which is a historical total in 2 weeks.
Calling the film an ‘Epic blockbuster, Taran tweeted, “From ₹ 3.55 cr on Day 1 to ₹ 207.33 cr on Day 14, #TheKashmirFiles has packed a HISTORIC TOTAL in 2 weeks... EPIC BLOCKBUSTER... On Thursday, Taran had shared the box-office collection of The Kashmir Files and it has surpassed the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi in just two weeks. It has become the highest-grossing Hindi film of the pandemic era.

The film has been receiving appreciation not just from the audience but also from PM Narendra Modi and Home minister, Amit Shah. PM Modi had praised the film and had said, "People have been discussing it for the past few days. The people who usually spend their lives advocating for freedom of expression have suddenly got very agitated. They are not discussing the film as a piece of art. Instead, this whole ecosystem is trying very hard to discredit the film."
