Do you know The Kashmir Files' Day 1 box-office collection is not amongst top 5 releases in pandemic times, see list

The Kashmir Files has cemented its position as a box-office blockbuster, but the day one earnings of the film weren't as impressive. The film had just minted Rs 3.55 crore on its first day and has now entered Rs 200 crore club. Several other films including Sooryavanshi, RRR and Bachchhan Paandey opened to impressive first-day collections amid the pandemic.

Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has received commercial success and critical acclaim. The film continues to perform well at the box office despite stiff competition from the recently released film, RRR. So far, The Kashmir Files has minted over Rs 219 crore and is steadily inching towards Rs 250 crore mark.
But while the film has cemented its position as a blockbuster, the Day 1 collection of The Kashmir Files wasn't as impressive. On its release (March 11), The Kashmir Files earned only Rs 3.55 crore. With its Day 1 earnings, the film doesn't feature on the list of Top 5 Day 1 box-office earnings of Indian films.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, in one of his recent tweets, shared a compiled list of five films, the day one collections of which have been the highest.
Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, tops the list with Rs 26.29 crore collection on the first day. Interestingly, it was a Diwali release. Next in line is SS Rajamouli's pan-India film, RRR, which was a non-holiday release on March 11. The film minted Rs 20.07 crore on its first day.
Next up on the list are Bachchhan Paandey (Rs 13.25 crore), 83 (Rs 12.64 crore) and Gangubai Kathiawadi (Rs 10.50 crore).
Adarsh's tweet read: "TOP 5 *DAY 1* - PANDEMIC TIMES…
1. #Sooryavanshi: ₹ 26.29 cr [#Diwali]
2. #RRR: ₹ 20.07 cr [#Hindi; non-holiday]
3. #BachchhanPaandey: ₹ 13.25 cr [#Holi]
4. #83TheFilm: ₹ 12.64 cr [#Christmas]
5. #GangubaiKathiawadi: ₹ 10.50 cr [non-holiday]
#Hindi films. #India biz."

While there was a considerable gap between the first-day earnings of the top five films and The Kashmir Files, the Anupam Kher-starrer has shown massive growth in the first two weeks. The film has entered the Rs 200 crore club and is expected to reach the Rs 250 crore mark in the coming days.
