WhatsApp is working to fix an issue while deleting chats. There is a persistent notification stuck at 100 percent when users wanted to delete their chats within the notification centre. The Meta-owned messaging app earlier fixed the issue in the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.22.14.3 update. However, the issue cropped in again.
According to WABetaInfo, the bug appeared again after installing the 2.22.14.5 beta version. It wrote, "The issue happened when deleting any WhatsApp chat by showing a persistent notification stuck at 100% right within the notification centre. The issue was successfully fixed in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.14.3 update but, for some weird reasons, the bug was back after installing the 2.22.14.5 beta version."
WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.14.12 is marked as a compatible update. The website also shared a screenshot of the issue. Users are advised to back up their chat history before installing a new beta update. It will help to restore your chats.
The app is also working on the ability to undo message deletion for a future update of the app. The "undo message deletion" feature is currently under development. This feature will allow users to restore their deleted messages. Once the feature is rolled out, a user can restore a deleted message by clicking on "undo". Users will have a few seconds to restore the message.
