Weather Update: Heavy rainfall likely over Odisha, Vidharbha, Konkan and Goa during next 2 days; here is complete IMD forecast

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the intense wet spell over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidharbha, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during the next two days.​

New Delhi: Several parts of eastern, central and western India are likely to receive heavy rainfall over the coming few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the intense wet spell over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidharbha, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during the next two days.
Depression is reported over coastal Odisha and its neighbourhood. The monsoon trough is active and lies south of its normal position. It will continue to remain so during the next three days.
The IMD, in its weather bulletin, said, "Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Gangetic West Bengal during 09th-11th & 13th; Jharkhand on 10th, 11th & 13th; Odisha during 09th-13th; Arunachal Pradesh on 09th; Assam & Meghalaya on 09th & 13th and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 09th, 10th & 13th August, 2022." Isolated very heavy rainfall is predicted over Odisha on August 10.
Meanwhile, rainfall is also forecasted along the central parts of India and along the west coast and central India. The MeT Department said, "Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Konkan & Goa during 09th-13th; Vidarbha and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during 09th-11th; Gujarat State during 09th-12th and over Marathwada on 09th August, 2022."
Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over west Madhya Pradesh till August 12 and over east Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat till August 11. Similar weather conditions are also likely to prevail over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa on August 10. Isolated/scattered extremely heavy rainfall is expected over Saurashtra and Kutch on Wednesday.
Several states of south India are also likely to receive heavy rainfall in the next few days. "Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Telangana and ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on 09th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 09th & 13th; Coastal Karnataka during 09th-12th and over Interior Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe during 09th-11th August, 2022," the weather agency said.
Western Himalayan regions of India including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to receive isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms or lightning on August 10. Rainfall is also expected over several parts of Rajasthan till August 13.
