Double whammy: Man dies while playing garba in Virar, grief-struck father dies on same spot

The 35-year-old deceased has been identified as Manish Kumar Jain, a jewellery trader in Virar, Palghar district of Maharashtra. His father Narpath also died at the same hospital after suffering cardiac arrest.

Mumbai: In a tragic incident Maharashtra, a 35-year-old man collapsed and died while playing garba at a housing society on Saturday. His 65-year-old father, who took the man to a hospital in an auto-rickshaw, suffered a heart attack and died at the same hospital.
The incident took place in Virar area of Palghar district in Maharashtra. Both the man and his father were declared brought dead.
The 35-year-old deceased has been identified as Manish Kumar Jain, a jewellery trader. He was playing garba at his housing society compound in Agarwal Complex in Virar (West) of the district.
Manish returned home after he complained of uneasiness and started vomiting. Later, he was rushed to Sanjeevani Hospital in Virar by his father Narpath and elder brother Rahul.
As Rahul alighted from the autorickshaw and took his brother towards emergency department, Rahul collapsed near the medical counter. When Rahul shouted for help, Narpath suffered a heart attack and collapsed in the autorickshaw.
The father-son duo were taken inside the hospital where both of them were declared dead.
Their father Narpat collapsed near the medical counter of the hospital. Police have filed a case under Section 174 of CrPC. A probe is underway by Arnala Police.
The autopsy report of the duo is awaited to ascertain the cause of death, police said. The family performed the last rites of the father-son on Sunday. Several incident have been reported recently where people people died during dancing or singing on stage and other functions.
