In the latest developments concerning the avalanche in Uttarkashi, the death toll has reached 26. This includes 24 trainees and 2 instructors. Earlier, an avalanche had hit the Draupadi Ka Danda Peak in Uttarkashi on Tuesday in which 61 trainees from the Nehru School of Mountaineering were trapped. Multiple rescue forces, including two Cheetah helicopters, have been deployed at the site of the incident to rescue the victims. A team from High Altitude Warfare School has also joined the rescue forces to expedite the operation. 3 mountaineers are still missing even after three days of rescue operations.
