'He will kill me, cut me into pieces,' Shraddha Walkar's letter to police before murder

Shraddha murder case: Two years ago Shraddha Walkar alerted police about the violent behaviour of Aftab and urged then to take action against her live-in partner.
Mumbai: Shocking details have emerged from a purported letter written by Shraddha Walker informing Palghar police about the brutalities faced by her at the hands of her alleged live-in partner Aftab Poonawala in South Delhi's Mehrauli.
The letter by Shraddha to Tulinj police in Palghar had served as an alert that she may be harmed if police did not take action.
Shraddha in her letter to police alleged that Aftab had been hitting her and threatened to kill her. "If something happens to me, you should know who to go after," she further wrote in her letter to police.
The letter was written by Shraddha on November 23, 2020. Shraddha also alleged that Aftab's parents were aware that he was physically assaulting him. It is alleged that the police did not take the letter into account seriously.
Shraddha further wrote in the letter that she was not willing to live with him anymore and he threatened to kill her.
Meanwhile reacting on the letter, former Maharashtra DGP Praveen Dixit said police must have acted on time after receiving the letter.
'If police have acted on time , the gruesome murder could have been prevented,' Praveen Dixit told Times Now.
Meawhile, Shraddha's WhatsApp chats with her former manager Karan Brar have also emerged which revealed injuries and hospitalisation of the deceased Mumbai girl.
Karan Brar was also called by the Delhi police for further probe into the gruesome murder that took place in May this year. Shraddha was killed by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala in Mehrauli area of South Delhi and her body was also allegedly cut into 35 pieces by him.
Case was closed after receiving written statement: Mumbai DCP
Meanwhile, Suhas Bavche, the Mumbai Zone 3 DCP said all SOPs were followed by the department while dealing with the complaint. The case was closed after Shraddha insisted that no further action was needed, he said.
"The police had taken all necessary actions on the basis of the complaint filed. The complainant had submitted a written statement saying that there are no complaints that remained unsettled. She has said that her friend's (Aftab) parents had come and spoken to her on the matter and now she has no complaints. After the written statement was received, the case was closed from our end," the DCP said.
'Aftab's father withheld details'
On Tuesday, a real estate broker in Mumbai claimed that Aftab Poonawala's father Amin withheld details about his son while he rented a flat on Mira Road in Maharashtra capital Mumbai.
According to the broker, Amin Poonawala informed the flat owner that his three family members including himself, his wife and son will stay in the flat.
Amin further informed the flat owner that his son Aftab was not staying with them. 'That was the only information Amin shared about his son Aftab and Shraddha murder suspect," a report in PTI quoted the real estate broker as saying.
Amin shifted with his family in the new accomodation in October after they rented their own flat in Vasai in Palghar district. Palghar comes under Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Meanwhile, the Poonawala family is still missing and their flat remains locked after the Shraddha murder case came to light and their son was deemed as a prime accused.
