Noida: Three minor boys upload 'morphed photo' of girl on social media; booked

Three minor boys have been booked by the Noida police for allegedly morphing a picture of a minor girl. The boys and the girl are in the same school.

Noida: Three minor boys have been booked by the Noida police for allegedly morphing a picture of a minor girl, The Indian Express reported. The boys and the girl are in the same school, police said.
“The father of the minor girl filed a complaint on August 2 that the minor boys had allegedly morphed a picture of the girl to make it look vulgar and had posted it on a social media website. As per preliminary investigation, we have found that the boys had allegedly clicked a picture of the girl standing with her friend some time ago,” said the SHO.
Police said an FIR under Section 67 (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology (IT) Act has been registered against the three students on August 3. “The girl is presently suffering from Covid; hence, her statement has not been taken yet,” the SHO further said.
Similarly, in another case, the Pollachi police in Coimbatore district on August 6 arrested three boys for morphing the picture of a class 4 student including his mother, TOI reported.
The Class IV boy, his father aged 41 years and mother aged 31 years live in Makkinampatti near Pollachi. The nine-year-old student is studying in a private school in Pollachi. Nearly six months ago, the couple sent their son to a Hindi tuition class taken by a teacher in their neighbourhood.
The victim came in contact with the accused teenager boys there. The accused befriended him and took a few pictures of the victim and his mother. Later, the accused morphed the pictures and demanded Rs. 40,000 as ransom.
