Charlotte Dean was left teary-eyed after getting run-out by Deepti Sharma at the non-striker's end. Charlotte left her crease early during the 44th over. The win in the Lord's ODI saw the Women in Blue whitewashing the hosts in the three-match series.

England's Charlotte Dean had to pay the price for leaving her crease early during the Lord's ODI against India and she ended up getting run-out by Deepti Sharma. Charlotte was way out of her crease even before Deepti had bowled the 4th delivery of the over and the bowler decided to make full use of the rules. As per the revised rules, this mode of dismissal is now called 'run-out.'
Twitterati was divided and some of the England players expressed their disappointment over Deepti's move to run-out Charlotte. The batter got emotional and was left teary-eyed as she walked to the pavilion.
England were inching towards a win and there were high hopes from Charlotte and Freya Davies. Charlotte's knock of 47 went in vain after she decided to leave the crease early.
With this win, India whitewashed England in the three-match series and gave a winning farewell to Jhulan Goswami, who was playing her retirement game. The right-arm pacer also played her part in the win and bowled a terrific spell of 10-3-30-2. She dismissed Kate Cross in her final over.
Pacer Renuka Singh was the star performer with the ball and she scalped a four-for. Her scalps included openers Tammy Beaumont, Emma Lamb, Sophia Dunkley and Amy Jones. Rajeshwari Gayakwad scalped 2 wickets while Deepti dismissed one batter, apart from running out Charlotte. Harmanpreet Kaur was adjudged the Player of the Series for her heroics in the series win.
India lost the T20I series 2-1. They kicked off the series with a defeat and bounced back to win the 2nd T20I. The Women in Blue lost the series-decider by 7 wickets.
The Lord's ODI marked an end to England's home summer. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will soon land in Bangladesh for T20 Asia Cup, to be played from October 1 to 15.
