The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Delhi zone seized 50 kg High Quality Heroin, 47 kg suspected Narcotics, 30 lacs drug money in cash. According to the officials, the high-quality heroin which was seized originated from Afghanistan and the drug suspected to be channeled through Hawala. As per the NCB officials, International Heroin trafficking Network busted as these syndicates have been smuggling goods to India through maritime as well as land border route.

Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Delhi zone seized 50 kg High Quality Heroin, 47 kg suspected Narcotics, 30 lacs drug money in cash. Deputy Director General (ops), Narcotics Control Bureau, Sanjay Kumar Singh and Deputy Director General (NR), Narcotics Control Bureau, Gyaneshwar Singh held a press conference in which they said, that NCB received a tip on which the action was taken.

NCB Delhi zone have not only seized 50 kg High Quality Heroin, 47 Kg suspected narcotics, 30 lacs of drug money but have also seized cash counting machines and other incriminating materials from a residential premises in Jamia Nagar, Shaheen Bagh on April 27.

Notably, the contraband was stored in a travel bag, bag packs and jute sacks. According to the officials, the high-quality heroin which was seized originated from Afghanistan and the drug suspected to be channeled through Hawala. The seized heroin was packed in packages of the e commerce shopping. One Indian national has also been arrested in this case who is a native of Delhi.

According to the officials, it has been disclosed during the ongoing investigation that an Indo-Afghan syndicate based in Delhi/NCR or neighboring state seems to be connected in the case and these syndicate have expertise in manufacturing Heroin locally.

As per the NCB officials, International Heroin trafficking Network busted as these syndicates have been smuggling goods to India through maritime as well as land border route. NCB DDG (ops) Sanjay Kumar Singh also revealed that Heroin was smuggled in with various legitimate good and was later extracted from those by the Indian counterparts with the help of the Afghan nationals.

NCB officials claimed that Inter-state gangs are assisting Pakistani drug traffickers and several raids were conducted and are still going on to bust the entire network. “It is an international syndicate, and the accused must be involved from Afghanistan and Pakistan,” an official added

“The syndicate was found to be related to drug traffickers of entire north region including states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi, further investigation is also going on in this particular matter,” an investigating officer added.

Former Director General (Police), Uttar Pradesh, Dr Vikram Singh Congratulated the Delhi Police and NCB for getting this haul and further stated, "Shaheen Bagh has been known for the wrong kind of reasons for 2 years now. Funding for anti-CAA agitation did not drop from heaven and generated through dubious means." He also stressed on the fact that anti social elements are being funded which requires extensive and elaborate investigation.
