Amravati: As the National Investigation Agency takes over the investigation into Maharashtra-resident Umesh Kolhe's murder, new details about the horrifying attack have come to the fore. Seven people have so far been arrested in connection with the case, and police remain on the lookout for one more suspect.
The footage accessed by Times Now shows the moments leading to Kolhe's death in chilling detail. He is believed to have been attacked between 10 pm and 10:30 pm on June 21 and the video footage shows that the incident had occurred mere metres away from his chemist shop.
In the clip, three men can be seen grabbing hold of Kolhe while one person slashed at his throat. Kolhe can be seen falling to the ground even as his attackers flee the scene. While help had arrived soon after to take him to the nearby hospital, it was far too late.
Having taken custody of all the seven accused earlier today, the NIA officials are now holding a crucial meeting in connection with the case and studying several documents. It is learnt that the probe agency plans to take the accused individuals to the premises of Kolhi's shop and the hospital, both adjacent to the scene of the attack. The NIA will attempt to 'recreate' the incidents leading up to the murder at the sites in order to glean a clearer picture of the crime.
The attack is believed to have been premediated, with around seven days of planning going into it. Footage also shows the attackers lying in wait for Kolhe.
