Citroen India has released a short teaser video that confirms that they are set to launch/reveal their first electric car on September 29. A short video with the caption - “An electric, that’s good. But for us, it’s far from being #enough. See you on September 29th.”
With an increasing demand for electric cars, there has been a conscious shift amongst automakers on a massive scale to manufacture and produce more EVs. Citroen will be the latest entrant in the segment for the Indian market. Earlier, the sub-brand of the French automotive manufacturer was spotted testing a test mule of the Citroen C3, with what seemed, to be a charging port on the front fender.
Just like its ICE counterpart, the Citroen C3 EV will also be based on the same platform. It is expected to be available with multiple battery options. One of them could be the 50W battery pack which is available with the Peugeot e-208, sold in the global market. This battery has a WLTP-certified range of 350 km. Paired to an electric motor, the Citroen C3 EV is expected to produce 135 bhp and 260 Nm of torque.

A smaller battery pack might also be available with the C3 EV, and that will have a range of about 300 km.
When it comes to its features, it should be more or less on par with the features available with the ICE C3. This includes the likes of cruise control, rear defogger, rear wipers, ORVMs with manual adjustment, etc. Aside from these, the C3 EV should also be available with some EV-specific features like regen braking, multiple drive modes, etc.
The Citroen C3 will be the latest entrant in a segment that includes the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and the newly launched Mahindra XUV400. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
