Delhi logs 2,419 fresh Covid-19 cases, crosses 2000-mark for third day in a row; two deaths reported in last 24 hours

Delhi on Friday logged 2, 419 fresh Covid-19 cases crossing the 2000-mark for the third consecutive day. While two deaths due to the infection were also reported in the last 24 hours. With 6,876 active cases, the positivity rate in the national capital stands at 12.95 per cent.

Delhi: The national capital on Friday witnessed a rise in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, at 2,419 as against 2,202 reported on the previous day. Meanwhile, two deaths due to the infection were reported.
The daily count of COVID-19 cases crossed the 2,000-mark for the third day in a row yesterday.The number of active cases in the city stands at 6,876, out of which 4,046 patients are being treated in home isolation.
Meanwhile, Delhi's Covid positivity rate has also risen slightly to 12.95 per cent. This was the fourth day in a row that the positivity rate crossed the 10-per cent mark.
As many as 1,716 patients recovered from the coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 19,31,590.
While Delhi's total caseload is 19,64,793 and the death toll in the city is at 26,327.
There are 204 Covid containment zones stands in the national capital.
A total of 18,685 new tests (13,287 RT-PCR and 5,398 Rapid Antigen) were conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 3,95,85,278 while 18,773 vaccines were administered with 160 people getting the first doses, 2,856 people got the second dose, and 14,757 received the precaution dose of the vaccine.
As per the health bulletin, total number of cumulative beneficiaries vaccinated so far stands at 3,59,11,154.
Delhi on Thursday recorded 2,202 Covid cases, with a positivity rate of 11.84 per cent, while four more people died due to the disease.
