Ahmedabad: CM launches Area Adoption Scheme, elected residents to help Police resolve traffic issues

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched an 'Area Adoption Scheme (AAS)' in Ahmedabad on Monday to ensure seamless traffic regulation through public participation.
Residents of a specific area will be included in the project, together with traffic police and elected officials, to settle traffic issues, according to a government announcement.
The CM also launched 'Pahel,' a one-day police conference focused on stress management, norms and regulations, and behavioural training in Ahmedabad.
Sanjay Srivastava, the Ahmedabad police commissioner, said that over the next three months, 15,000 police officers will be trained by psychiatrists, journalists, and attorneys.
The CM stressed the need of having a pleasant and mutually respectful relationship between police and civilians during the event. Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Home, was also present.
He stated that police officers' friendly demeanour is always appreciated and leaves a positive impression on the public.
Ahmedabad Mayor Kirit Parmar stated that the city government will work closely with the police department on the AAS. A government release said various experts and police officers discussed ways.
At the one-day session, participants were encouraged to develop cordial, harmonious relationships of the police with people and to ignite in people's minds the spirit of 'Police Praja na Mitra' (police as a friend of the people).
