Kartik Aaryan's BB2 may be 2022's top Bolly BO draw on opening weekend, but Yash's KGF2 still beats it by Rs 138 crore

Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is ruling the box office, bring to end a dry spell that Bollywood was facing. And as it turns out, as half of 2022 goes by, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has cemented its place as the top film with the highest opening weekend business at the box office.
Earlier today film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the top four opening weekend business draws in Bollywood for 2022. At numero uno was undoubtedly Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Rs 55.96 crore. Coming in at second was Akshay Kumar's Samrat Prithviraj, which despite its box office debacle still managed to pull one of the higher box office weekend draws.
Following Samrat Prithviraj was Alia Bhatt's one woman show Gangubai Kathiawadi. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film earned Rs 39.12 crore, while latest entrant - Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo amanged to round off the top 4 with Rs 36.93 crore at ticket windows.

However, none of the films came close to the Hindi dubbed versions of Prasanth Neel's Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2 and SS Rajamouli's RRR. While Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer RRR minted Rs 75.57 crore on its opening weekend. Yash and Srinidhi Shetty's KGF: Chapter 2 earned a whopping Rs 193.99 during the same time period.
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani's JugJugg Jeeyo seems to be the only other Bollywood film which is having some noticeable effect on the BO after BB2. Taran Adarsh tweeted the film's first weekend business saying, "#JugJuggJeeyo fares very well in Weekend 1... Gains on Day 2 and 3 positive sign... Multiplexes fantastic, yield big revenue, while mass circuits bloom on Day 3... Needs to maintain a strong grip on Day 4 ... Fri 9.28 cr, Sat 12.55 cr, Sun 15.10 cr. Total: ₹ 36.93 cr. #India biz."
