Mumbai logs 85 fresh cases of Covid-19 cases, zero fatality; active cases tally at 682

The new cases were detected from the 5,361 swab sample tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours. Out of the 85 new cases, only four patients are symptomatic.

Mumbai: The financial capital on Tuesday recorded 85 new cases of Covid-19. With this, the tally of total Coronavirus infections to 11,49,917, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
However, no new death due to the viral disease was reported in the city hence, the death toll remained unchanged at 19,730.
The recovery count in Mumbai rose to 11,29,505 after 120 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, he said.
With a recovery rate of 98.2 per cent, as many as 682 active cases remain in the city now, the official said.
As per a bulletin issued by the BMC, the 85 fresh cases on Tuesday came out of the 5,361 swab samples tests that were conducted in the city in the last 24 hours. This took the total number of tests conducted so far to 1,82,86,122.
Of the new cases, only four patients were symptomatic, it stated.
The Metropolis on Monday logged 51 fresh cases of Covid-19 while one patient succumbed to the viral infection.
As per the health bulletin issued on Monday, eight out of 51 new patients were symptomatic and have been admitted to a hospital and four of them are on oxygen support.
On Sunday, Mumbai registered 108 new Covid cases while no deaths due to the infection were seen in the city.
The overall growth rate of Covid-19 cases in the city was 0.09 per cent for the period between September 20 and September 26, while the doubling rate was 7,860 days, the bulletin said.
