Work travels can be tiring and if you are someone who has to travel regularly, it can be difficult to keep track of all the places you have to visit for business meetings.
A US man claimed that he recently ended up in the wrong city and missed a big business meeting.
"Today I f***ed up by missing a meeting because I flew to the wrong city," he wrote on Reddit.
"I have to travel a boatload for work, something like 100+ nights a year in hotels. It can kind of all run together and I don't pay a ton of notice to it anymore. The office handles the bookings and all so I really just have to show up," he said.
He added that he most commonly travels between New York City, Dallas in Texas, Seattle in Washington, San Francisco in California and Atlanta in Georgia.
He recently had to spend a few days in Seattle before heading to Dallas. However, his flight to Seattle included a layover in Dallas. When he saw Dallas on his ticket, he assumed that he was to be in Dallas and missed the connecting flight to Seattle and the important meeting he was supposed to attend.
"I had a few day's trip hitting Dallas and Seattle so got on a plane this morning, flew to Dallas, hopped off, and grabbed an Uber to the hotel I usually stay at there. I figured I'd lounge around and get some work done for a bit before a late afternoon meeting," he wrote.
The man explained, "But the hotel said I wasn't supposed to be there until two nights from then. Turns out that I was supposed to be in Seattle. I had a layover in Dallas, and just out of habit saw the Dallas Airport so hopped out and grabbed an Uber instead of catching the second leg of the flight ... I did not make the meeting. I thought my layover was my destination so skipped a flight and missed a meeting because I was on the wrong side of the country."
Netizens shared similar experiences in the comments section of the post.
"I once had an East to West trip for a meeting. Non-stop flight and when I was over the Rockies, got an e-mail that the meeting was cancelled. Good times."
"I can see this happening to me and I go to the same three cities every year."
