Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 first look: A polished productivity monster

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 4, with an all-new taskbar that provides PC-like multitasking.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is Samsung's latest foldable device.

Samsung unveiled its latest top-end foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 recently. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and comes with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.

Samsung has slimmed down the hinge, and the phone is lighter than its predecessors. Now, Samsung has confirmed that the device will be available in Graygreen, Beige and Phantom Black colours. I got my hands on the Black Phantom variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and here are my initial impressions of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 7.6-inch primary AMOLED screen(1812 x 2176 pixels). The screen supports HDR10+ and a screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The phone also features a 6.2-inch cover display.

One thing I noticed was that the crease was barely noticeable while holding the phone straight in front of me. Even when viewing the inner screen of the Z Fold 4 from the side, the crease was less noticeable than its predecessors.

Both the screens of the device are top notch and the larger primary display will give users the freedom to consume content on a larger screen even when they are on the move.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 come with dual stereo speakers and support for Dolby Atmos. Watching movies and listening to music was an enriching experience because of the crisp and punchy sound that the device is capable of outputting. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a 4,400mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

The phone comes with an Armor Aluminum frame and hinge cover along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the Cover Screen and rear glass. The phone also comes with IPX8 certification for added water resistance.

The phone comes with a 50MP primary rear shooter. Other cameras on the back include a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP 3X Telephoto shooter.

The phone also packs a 10MP selfie shooter and a 4MP under-display camera. As part of our initial testing, the phone was capable of capturing great-looking shots in varied lighting conditions. Another interesting thing to note is that users can make use of the rear cameras to click selfies by using the cover screen as the viewfinder.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 is priced at Rs 1,54,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant and Rs 1,64,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant. Consumers can purchase the the 12GB + 1TB variant of the device exclusively via Samsung Live and Samsung Exclusive Stores for Rs 1,84,999.
