England's historic tour of Pakistan 2022: Full schedule, squads, telecast, streaming details and more

England cricket team's winter starts with a historic T20I series against Pakistan after a mixed-bag of a summer at home. England won probably everything in the longest format but the white-ball cricket left a little to be desired under new captain Jos Buttler. While England will hope to regain their white-ball form, it will be an opportunity for the hosts to come back from the Asia Cup final loss.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
  • England have travelled after 17 long years to Pakistan for a cricket series
  • England will first face the hosts in 7 T20Is followed by three Tests in December
  • Pakistan will hope to put the Asia Cup final loss behind and perform well against a strong English side
England cricket team has arrived in Pakistan after 17 long years for a T20I series and later three Test matches. While it may be more than a decade for the national team, however, several squad members of the England side have played in Pakistan in the PSL in the last few years. This historic tour will not only be a test of England's bench strength with a few first-choice players not available for the Karachi leg including skipper Jos Buttler, but also serve as the preparation for the T20 World Cup as the 2010 champions are coming off from a below-par white-ball summer.
Moeen Ali is set to lead England in Buttler's absence and the onus will be on the likes of Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid among others to see their side through the Karachi leg after which Chris Woakes, Mark Wood and Reece Topley will come into the action.
For Pakistan, it will be an opportunity to erase the doubts over their side after the loss in the Asia Cup final. The opening pair, middle order and depth of the squad were criticised after Pakistan weren't able to chase and it starts with skipper Babar Azam, who endured a horror run at the continental tournament scoring just 68 runs in 6 innings.
A few new faces will be on show in the seven matches while the regulars will hope to get into their best form before they travel to New Zealand for the tri-series followed by the T20 World Cup in Australia.
