A mother has shared details of a horrifying filler experience that made her lips swell up six times their size.
Lauren Evens had to be hospitalised after suffering an extreme allergic reaction to fillers that made her lips look like sausages.
The mother-of-two said her swelling was so severe that she was unable to talk and her airways began to close.
After being hospitalised, Lauren was rushed by doctors to the resuscitation unit and injected with adrenaline. Lauren was first given an antihistamine for her swelling. But when things got worse and she was unable to speak, the she was rushed to the resuscitation unit.
"My lips looked like a baboon’s bum. They went around six times bigger than their normal size. It was very painful,” she said.
"I fell asleep and they woke me up to give me some more antihistamine and they said that they were getting bigger and bigger. It was scary," added the mother.

"It’s unexplained as to why this happened. Apparently, at any age and at any point, you can develop an allergy to something. I won’t be getting lip filler again anytime soon. I want to have the allergy test to see exactly what I’m allergic to, the thought that it could happen again is very scary," she said.
