Rajasthan: Cops seize 42 boxes of country-made liquor being sent to Bihar through courier ; smugglers held

The city police apprehended a man who was allegedly supplying illegal country-made liquor to Bihar from Rajasthan’s Alwar district through courier. The accused was using a fake name, address and mobile number in the guise of household goods to smuggle the liquor.

Rajasthan: Cracking the whip on the smuggling of liquors, the city police apprehended a man who was allegedly supplying illegal country-made liquor to Bihar from Rajasthan’s Alwar district through courier. The accused was using a fake name, address and mobile number in the guise of household goods to smuggle the liquor.
The accused, identified as Rahul Parashar, India Today reported. According to Alwar SP, based on a tip-off that a person has sent seven suspicious parcels by speed courier to Patna, near Jhankar Hotel in NEB police station area, the police started the investigation.
On receiving the information, SHO Rajesh Verma immediately reached the spot with his team. Confirming the information, the booked parcels were opened and intercepted. As many as 42 boxes of Royal Classic Whiskey country liquor were found in the seven parcels.
The smuggler, with connivance with the employee of a courier company, was held and being interrogated. Along with the country liquor being sent in parcels, the police also seized seven ATM cards of different banks, one PAN card each, voter ID card, driving license and motorcycle RC and several blank cheques of different banks.
Recently, in July 2022, the Excise Department officials seized around 1000 liquor cartons worth Rs 50 lakhs near Suket in Rajasthan's Kota. The cartons were recovered from a container at Suket toll block on National Highway 52 between Kota to Jhalawar. The container driver, 30-year-old Bhanwarlal, a resident of Barmer, has been arrested.
