The wait is finally over as Europe's biggest competition at the club level - the UEFA Champions League is finally set for a return. The group stage draw and prestigious award ceremony of the UEFA Champions League are scheduled to take place on Thursday. Just like the previous campaign, the UEFA Champions League draw for the season 2022-2023 will be hosted by Turkey in Istanbul. The UEFA award ceremony will take place after the draw in Turkey.

The Champions League draw will have 26 automatic qualifiers and six play-off round winners. The line-up is subject to final confirmation by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The Champions League teams will be split into four seeding pots and the first pot will feature holders Real Madrid, UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt and the winners of the six highest-ranked nations.

As per the format of the celebrated league, the top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 16. Earlier, UEFA had also revealed UEFA Men's Player of the Year nominees. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid & France), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid & Belgium) and Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City & Belgium) are the shortlisted nominees for the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.
