Amit Shah, JP Nadda to arrive in Assam today; biggest BJP office in northeast to be inaugurated on Oct 8

Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda and Union Minister Amit Shah will begin their two-day visit to Assam on Friday and inaugurate the party's biggest office in the northeastern region on Saturday.
Bhabesh Kalita, the president of Assam BJP, announced that on October 8, the top party leaders will inaugurate the newly-built office in Guwahati's Basistha area. A number of state party leaders will be in attendance, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
In Guwahati, Nadda and Shah will also attend the party workers' meeting at the Veterinary College playground, Khanapara.
"Our party national president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Guwahati on October 7 evening and they will attend a party meeting. They will also attend party workers meeting to be held at Veterinary College playground, Khanapara where around 35,000-40,000 party workers across the state will participate," Bhabesh Kalita told news agency ANI.
Preparations have already been made for the programmes, said Kalita.
Amit Shah is scheduled to attend a series of official meetings on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, ANI mentioned official sources as saying.
On Sunday, the Union Home Minister will attend the Conference of the Superintendent of Police at the Police Training College in Dergaon. He is due to depart from Assam on Sunday evening after several official engagements.
Bhartiya Janata Party office bearers, meanwhile, said that the soon-to-be inaugurated Assam BJP state headquarters will be the party's largest office in the northeastern region.
BJP's office is expected to have state-of-the-art infrastructure and all the modern amenities.
The building, spread over more than 95,000 square feet, will have six floors and an open rooftop premise.
BJP's new office will have an auditorium that can accommodate 350 people and high-tech conference rooms that can accommodate 40 people each. There will also be five meeting rooms that can accommodate 50 people each. Also included in the office will be a large press conference room, a reception area, and a canteen.
The foundation stone for this BJP office in Assam was laid by the then-party president Amit Shah in February 2019.
"Assam is the doorway to the northeast. Assam is the state which actually opened the fortunes for our party in this region," said an Assam state office bearer while talking to ANI.
