Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took a dig at dynasty politics in an attack on Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena ahead of the grand Dussehra rally on Thursday. Both the factions of Shiv Sena have been claiming legacy of Bal Thackeray.
Taking a potshot at dynasty politics and Uddhav Thackeray, who is the son of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, Shinde quoted Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
Shinde's tweet read, "मेरे बेटे, बेटे होने से मेरे उत्तराधिकारी नहीं होंगे, जो मेरे उत्तराधिकारी होंगे, वो मेरे बेटे होंगे" (My son, being a son will not be my heir, whoever will be my heir will be my son.)

Sena vs Sena showdown

Shinde's tweet came hours before the two factions of Shiv Sena were scheduled to host mega Dussehra rallies in Mumbai. While the Uddhav-led faction will hold its historic rally at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Shinde camp will hold its rally on the MMRDA grounds at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
Ahead of the rallies, the two factions have been engaging in video war by releasing teasers to take down on each other. Both the Sena factions claimed that they are the real followers of Bala Thackeray's ideology and used the bow and arrow symbol in their videos.
In a pungent attack, the teaser for the rally released by Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena said, "We never backstab anyone but if anyone backstabs us, we hack them.” The statement is seen as a direct attack on Shinde who, along with other rebel MLAs, formed the government in the state after toppling the Uddhav's coalition government.
