Rajasthan: PM Modi arrives late for rally, skips address to obey loudspeaker rules

Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday did not use loudspeaker to address a public meeting at an event in Rajasthan's Abu Road as he reached the venue late.
The prime minister did not use a mic to address the huge gathering as he didn’t want to violate any rule of using loudspeaker post 10 pm.
PM Modi reached the venue in the Abu Road area of Rajasthan's Sirohi late and said he has to obey loudspeaker rules and regulations.
"I got late in reaching. It is 10 pm. My conscience says that I should follow the rules and regulations. So, I apologise before you," Modi told the gathering without a mic and loudspeaker.
"But, I want to promise you that I will come here again and will repay with interest the love and affection that you have given me," he said.
Rajasthan BJP president Satish Poonia, former CM Vasundhara Raje, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Gulab Chand Kataria and his deputy Rajendra Rathore welcomed PM Modi at the venue.
Notably, the Rajasthan Assembly elections are scheduled next year.
In July 2005, the Supreme Court had in July 2005 banned the use of loudspeakers and music systems between 10 pm to 6 am at public places citing serious effects of noise pollution.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the Phase-I of Ahmedabad Metro project at the Ahmedabad Education Society in Ahmedabad and also flagged off the new Vande Bharat Express between Gandhinagar and Mumbai at Gandhinagar Station.
He also visited Ambaji in Gujarat and laid the foundation stone and dedicated various development projects to the nation worth over Rs 7,200 crores. He also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of over 45,000 houses built under PM Awas Yojana.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of Taranga Hill – Ambaji – Abu Road New Broad Gauge Line. Besides, these, he also laid the foundation stone for development of pilgrimage facilities at Ambaji temple under PRASAD scheme.
During this festive season, PM Modi pointed out that the central government is spending about Rs 4 lakh crore on extending the free ration scheme, which gives relief to more than 80 crore people in the country. He said that the scheme has been extended so that the sisters and mothers of poor families do not face any problems in running their kitchens in difficult times.
