Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Sangrur in Punjab, Narinder Kaur Bharaj, is slated to tie the knot with a party volunteer on Friday.
Narinder Kaur Bharaj (28) will marry Mandeep Singh Lakhewal (29) near Patiala.
A party leader said on Thursday that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is likely to attend the wedding.
Earlier this year, Bharaj defeated political heavyweight and former minister Vijay Inder Singla (Congress) by 36,430 votes in the Assembly Elections. With this victory, Narinder Kaur Bharaj became the youngest MLA in the Punjab Assembly.
Born into a farming family in Bharaj village, Bharaj is a law graduate. Bharaj's spouse also comes from a farming family like hers and is currently residing in Patiala.
In the presence of both families and some special relatives, the marriage will be solemnized at Gurdwara Sahib (near Patiala).
In July this year, Bhagwant Mann (48) became the first Punjab Chief Minister to get married while in office. The AAP leader tied the knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur from Kurukshetra’s Pehowa.
The ceremony was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP MP Sanjay Singh, and other leaders.
