KEY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has been reportedly keen to leave Manchester United since the start of the summer window.
  • Plenty of news reports and rumours have emerged over Ronaldo's situation in the past month or so.
  • On Instagram, Ronaldo hit out at 'lies' being spread about him which he will expose in an interview in two weeks' time.
There's no way Cristiano Ronaldo can be kept out of the news. For the past couple of months, the Manchester United star has been a central talking point in the media over his reported willingness to leave the club. But, despite rigorous efforts by his agent Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo hasn't been able to find a new club.
At first, Manchester United were said to be unwilling to let him leave this summer but certain 'attitude issues' have now reportedly made the club more open to his departure. As the gossip over Ronaldo's future and his current state in the team continues, the Portuguese has spoken about the rumours and blasted media on Instagram, saying of the 100 news he made, only 5 were correct.
Ronaldo also pledged to clarify everything and make the 'real truth' come out in a couple of weeks' time.
"They know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks," the 37-year-old commented on a post by cr7.o_lendario. "The media is telling lies. I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I made, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip."

Ronaldo's reaction came after a post from his friend Edu Aguirre (cr7.o_leandario). The post read: "I really want Cristiano to leave Manchester because the current scenario in this team is very bad for him, but if he stays, I will cheer fervently to make everything go well as always.
"Until the 31st, the fans will be for him to go to a better team and that can happen, let's wait."
Ronaldo's response came as a comment on the post.
With there still being two weeks for the summer transfer window to be over, it's interesting to note that Ronaldo doesn't want to clarify anything until the possibilities of him leaving Manchester United still exist.
As for the club, the Red Devils have gotten off to the poorest start possible, losing to minnows Brighton and Brentford by heavy margins in the first two games of the Premier League season.
