Amritsar: After a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid at Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's residence, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday said skeletons in Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) closets will tumble out.
Furthermore, Majithia compared the Delhi government's now abandoned excise policy to the one being followed in Punjab, where the Aam Aadmi Party is also in power.
"Skeletons are likely to tumble out of cupboards as the flawed monopolistic Delhi excise policy was implemented in Punjab also," he told the media at Baba Bakala, without further elaborating.
Additionally, Majithia appealed to the Centre for the release of Sikh prisoners who are still imprisoned even after their terms have expired.
In his view, the Punjab AAP government has failed to fulfil its election promises.
"Punjabis were first betrayed by the Congress. Now, the AAP government is also following in their footsteps and is refusing to implement its promise to give Rs 1,000 per month to all women and regularise contractual employees, besides providing jobs to the youth," he said.
According to him, the state government is not doing anything to help the common man battle inflation. "It has refused to reduce the state VAT on petrol and diesel," he said.
He added that sugarcane farmers were not getting their dues from the mills, and state assured price (SAPs) of sugarcane was lower than those in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
On Friday, the CBI conducted searches at several locations, including Manish Sisodia's home, after registering an FIR related to the abandoned Delhi excise policy.
The SAD leader reiterated the party's position on 'Bandi Singhs', stating that they are entitled to return to their families.
"It is unfortunate that the Sikh detainees are still incarcerated despite having completed the full tenure of their life sentences," he said.
