Bengaluru: The officials of the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) on Friday said that BESCOM will hold ‘Vidyut Adalat’ on Saturday to hear grievances of its consumers. These ‘Vidyut Adalats’ will be held at 104 villages.
The ‘Vidyut Adalat’ will be attended by BESCOM managing director P Rajendra Cholan, Chief General Manager (Operations) M.L. Nagaraj, Director Technical D Nagarjuna and other senior officials, reported The Indian Express.
Nagaraj said that information about the existing power supply infrastructure under BESCOM will be collected by the officers who oversee Vidyut Adalat. They will also collect information on the current status of power supply in the villages.
State Energy Minister, V Sunil Kumar has asked all electricity supply companies to organize Vidyut Adalats in the villages for speedy redressal of power-related issues in rural areas. The grievances redressal meetings will be held on third Saturday of every month.
A BESCOM official said that the Vidyut Adalat will address issues related to power like billing, quality power supply, safety and other meter issues, solar energy, high voltage, overload/low voltage etc… and other issues pertaining to BESCOM. The officers who will attend the grievance redressal meetings have been asked to resolve the issues in a time-bound manner.
The official further said that officials will provide information regarding the government schemes, helpline, benefits of Jana Snehi Vidyut schemes, mobile app and online payment during the Adalats. All ESCOMS have been directed to start Vidyut Adalat at border taluks and extend it to all villages on priority basis by the Energy Minister. BESCOM Officials will get a prescribed format to update the information about Vidyut Adalats and the same will be sent to the state government.
