EXCL! Shanaya Kapoor on film debut: 'Want people to feel that I earned it, didn't take it for...'

Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor's daughter Shanaya Kapoor is one of the most popular star kids, who boasts of a massive fan following, even before she entered showbiz. However, she is not too far from making her Bollywood debut. She is all set to start shooting for her debut film Bedhadak next year.

Now, in an exclusive chat with Zoom TV Digital, the actress opened up about her big Bollywood debut, which also stars Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada.

When asked about her feelings about her first film in Bollywood, she revealed that she is excited because she is finally a step closer to her childhood dream. She also admitted that she is "nervous" because "it's important for her to do the best job" as it's the first step towards a "hopefully long and varied career".

Speaking with Zoom TV, she said, "I’m both nervous and excited. Nervous because it’s important that I do the best job and because it isn't just a first film, it’s the first step towards hopefully a long and varied career. And excited because I’m finally a step closer towards realizing a dream I've had since childhood. It’s a mix of all kinds of emotions. Gurfateh, Lakshya, and I have prepped a lot for it, and it’s a very special film for the whole Bedhadak team. It’s very close to my heart! I’m extremely grateful to have gotten a film like Bedhadak."

Calling her debut "not a typical launch", she added, "I am very excited; it’s not a typical “launch” as perhaps people would expect. It’s a solid story about 3 youngsters, and the character is quite challenging - I'm preparing for it. I'm grateful for the opportunity and I'm working very hard to prove that I deserve it."

Shanaya hopes that her performance in the film makes "people feel that she has earned the opportunity and didn't waste it".

She said, "I want my performance in this film to make people feel that I earned this opportunity- that I didn't waste it or that I didn't take it for granted. I’ve worked very hard and I will continue to - it’s not even something I want to keep repeating because that is the job - you're meant to work hard, and I have. I hope people recognize that when they see my work."

Before her big debut, Shanaya kapoor made a splash this year when she walked the ramp for ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra at Lakme Fashion Week 2022. Besides acting, she is also a trained belly dancer.

Meanwhile, Shanaya kapoor has collaborated with Booking.com for its new campaign and it was released on September 21.
