Maharashtra crisis: Eknath Shinde camp reveals when rebel MLAs will return to Mumbai

A majority of Shiv Sena MLAs led by Shinde have revolted against Chief Minster Uddhav Thackeray over party's alliance with the NCP and Congress. They have been camping in Assam's Guwahati. While Uddhav Thackeray has offered to quit if they come to Mumbai, the rebel MLAs have been demanding the chief minister to quit the alliance and join hands with the BJP. Thackeray has categorically rejected the idea of tying up with the BJP.

Guwahati: The rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde on Sunday said that they were ready to face a floor test but their faction should be recognised first. They maintained that they will not return to the MVA government of Sena-Congress-NCP - an issue that has been at the centre of entire crisis.

In the last two days, the fight has escalated with the Thackeray side moving disqualification notice to 16 rebel MLAs.
Today, rebel Shiv Sena legislator Deepak Kesarkar said that MLAs of the Shinde camp were ready to face the floor test in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly at any time, but first recognition should be given to the Eknath Shinde faction. "We will not go with the MVA government," he said.
Kesarkar claimed that one to two more MLAs will come to Guwahati and join them. "With their support and other independents, our strength will be increased to 51," he said. He further said that rebel MLAs will arrive at a decision in 3-4 days and thereafter they will directly go back to Maharashtra.
Today, the Shinde camp moved the Supreme Court against the disqualification notice issued by the Deputy Speaker. The rebels have also challenged the appointment of Ajay Chaudhary as leader of Shiv Sena's Legislature Party.
Earlier today, Sanjay Raut threatened the rebel MLAs saying they know what can happen in the fire that has been lit. "40 MLAs in Guwahati are living corpses, their souls are dead. Their bodies will be sent directly to the Assembly for post-mortem when they come back. They know what can happen in the fire that has been lit here," Raut was quoted as saying by ANI.
