Lord Ganesha's devotees observe the Chaturthi Tithi every Lunar fortnight because it is a day dedicated to their Ishta Devata. The mighty Lord is said to have appeared on the Chaturthi Tithi Shukla Paksha Bhadrapada month (the fourth day during the waxing phase of the Moon in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada).
