Okinawa launches its Mega Factory

Okinawa has announced the launch of its new Mega Factory in Karoli, Rajasthan. It is planned to be a state of the art production facility which will house the entire EV ecosystem. This facility will spread over 30 acres of land and will generate employment for over five thousand people. About ₹ 500 crores will be invested to shape this new facility which is targeted to be ready and functional by October 2023.

India is witnessing a boom in the electric two wheeler market and to meet this demand the manufacturers are revamping their scales of production.
Okinawa has announced the launch of its new Mega Factory in Karoli, Rajasthan. It is planned to be a state of the art production facility which will house the entire EV ecosystem. This facility will spread over 30 acres of land and will generate employment for over five thousand people. About ₹ 500 crores will be invested to shape this new facility which is targeted to be ready and functional by October 2023.

Carrying forward the Made in India and Made for India vision, this facility will play a key role for the company to meet the rise in demand for electric two wheelers in the country. This plant is also proposed to manufacture products for the international market.
This facility will boast an in-house automatic robotic battery manufacturing unit, an in-house motor and controller plant, robotic automation of plastic body parts and moulding, automation for powertrain manufacturing and a state of the art paint shop. It will be capable of manufacturing 1 million units per year.
This mega plant will look to automate various steps of the manufacturing process. It will also serve as the company’s R&D facility, warehouse and supplier park. It will be the company’s base for manufacturing global products for the future

The R&D facilities planned in the mega factory will be futuristic to ensure we meet the sector's demand ahead. The mega factory will not only concentrate on the manufacturing of vehicles. It will also have a supplier park that will take account of motor, controllers, battery packs and other electrical parts meant to support the complete EV ecosystem."
