We need more than a moment to step back and enjoy the gorgeous looks served at the Cannes Film Festival this year by the Indians. Whether it is Pooja Hegde's first appearance or Aishwarya Rai making her way back to the red-carpet, this year's event is spellbinding. Amid it all, Deepika Padukone has been shining bright with her sartorial ventures as a member of the jury.
For her first press meet, Deepika opted for a Sabyasachi outfit. Deepika opted for a pair of green pants and a printed ivory and green shirt that she teamed with a headscarf and a heavy necklace. Sharing details of the outfit, Sabyasachi's official Instagram handle shared the images as well as details in the caption.
The caption read, "Jury member Deepika Padukone at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival jury photocall. She wears clothing and high jewellery from Sabyasachi’s Tropic of Calcutta collection—the global resort series, where Indian heritage gets a contemporary update."
"Featuring a printed Mysore silk shirt with a digital rendering of hand-painted vintage flora inspired by Company paintings made by the Sabyasachi Art Foundation, with Sabyasachi monogram buttons and pleated wool trousers. Paired with the Lucknow Rose, a deconstructed Maharani necklace that has been crafted with extensively sourced multicoloured gemstones and uncut diamonds. And accessorised with the Bengal Trophy belt by Sabyasachi Accessories," it further read.
With all that glamour, we bet you didn't notice that one of the stones in her necklace has an Arabic script. Deepika's fan page on Instagram managed to get a closer look and revealed that the ancient Arabic script reads as 'Fi-Amanu-Allah' that means 'In God's Safety'
For the opening night, Deepika opted for a glorious Sabyasachi striped sequin saree that she teamed with bold eye makeup that has received polarising views from netizens.
