Viral video: Elephant calf has a ball splashing water from waterhole created by forest officials

Waterholes are practically the oases of regions with a dry climate such as the African Savannah and (traditionally) northern India. But, did you know some of these seemingly-natural pools are created by elephants digging the Earth with their feet, trunk and tusks? An elephant may use them to replenish or take a mud bath and have fun doing it. Speaking of fun, a viral video shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan shows a family of gentle giants drinking at a waterhole while the juvenile elephants splash the water. “That calf is having some best moments. In dry season these water holes are their lifeline. One such created by us,” he said in a Twitter post.
