Ranveer Singh shares a regal picture after winning Best Actor at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne for ‘83
Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to share a good news with his followers. The superstar has been adjudged Best Actor of the Year for his performance in Kabir Khan's '83 at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

Ranveer Singh was named the Best Actor of the Year at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). The superstar received the honour for his moving performance as India cricket legend Kapil Dev in ‘83.
Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘83 released in theatres in December 2021 and earned rave reviews from the critics, who especially heaped praise on Ranveer for his accurate portrayal of the World Cup-winning captain.
After winning the Best Actor trophy at the prestigious awards ceremony, Ranveer has taken to Instagram to share a picture holding the certificate. He is seen in traditional attire in the click.
“Humbled to receive the Best Actor of the Year Award for 83 at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM),” read Ranveer’s caption.
A number of celebs including Ranveer’s co-stars from ‘83 congratulated him on his win. While Saqib Saleem who played Mohinder Amarnath dropped fire emojis, Sahil Khattar who played Syed Kirmani wrote, “It's because of that scene you had with Mr. Kirmani jokes apart...you are a sweetheart.”
Upon its theatrical release, ‘83 went on to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. However, the total collection was still below expectations.
The sports drama also featured Deepika Padukone as Kapil’s better half Romi Bhatia. Ranveer and Deepika sharing the screen space once again was one of the main highlights of ‘83.
Meanwhile, Ranveer will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, which is slated to release during Christmas 2022. He also Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in his kitty opposite Alia Bhatt. Ranveer and Alia previously featured together in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy.
