Hyderabad: The enormous flyover in Hyderabad that connects LB Nagar and Uppal should be ready for inauguration soon. The majority of the construction has been finished, according to GHMC officials, and some sources indicate that the flyover may be formally opened in October. The flyover, which was constructed at a cost of more than Rs 210 crore, would benefit commuters by removing the signal-heavy stretch between Uppal and LB Nagar.
The GHMC built the Nagole flyover as part of the Strategic Road Development Programme (SDRP), which also included efforts to build flyovers at Bairamalguda, Chandrayangutta, and the LB Nagar underpass.
The Nagole flyover has 23 piers, 22 spans, 600 metres of via-duct parts, and 300 metres of a reinforced earth wall. It is almost 900 metres long and 24 metres broad. According to sources, a ramp is being built, and 21 of the 22 spans have already been constructed.
On weekdays, commuters use the Uppal to LB Nagar section of the road to head towards Dilsukhnagar, Karmanghat, and other locations where offices are situated, causing considerable traffic jams. The flyover was supposed to be opened in July, according to earlier GHMC officials' hints, but there were some delays. According to sources, there are around 14 SDRP projects in and around LB Nagar that have received over Rs 448 crore in funding.

On August 23 of this year, the Chandrayangutta flyover, another SDRP project, was scheduled to open. However, since violent demonstrations over BJP MLA Raja Singh's statements against the Prophet Mohammed broke out in Hyderabad, the opening was postponed for a few days.
Thirty of the 41 SRDP projects that the GHMC took on—including the Chandrayangutta flyover expansion—have been finished. The remaining 11 SRDP projects, which entail the construction of flyovers, underpasses, and RoBs to handle the escalating traffic, are at various levels of completion.
