Fire breaks out on the 18th floor of Thane's Preston Tower; no casualties reported
Ten residents were evacuated safely after a fire broke out on the 18th floor of Preston Tower in Thane on Wednesday.
No casualties were reported in the fire incident.

Mumbai: A fire broke out on the 18th floor of Preston Tower on Ghodbunder road in Thane on Wednesday. Fire tenders were rushed to the sport and a rescue operation was carried out immediately. Ten residents were evacuated safely from the building.
The fire accident took place around 2 pm on Wednesday and nobody was injured in the incident that occurred in the high-rise located in the Patlipada area of Ghodbunder Road, the chief of Thane civic body’s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) Avinash Sawant said.
“The blaze erupted on the 18th floor of the 27-storey building. Soon after being alerted, a team of the local fire brigade and RDMC personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. Ten residents from the affected floor were rescued,” he said.
The reason for the incident is yet to be ascertained by the officials. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
In a similar incident today,a fire broke out in a small structure near a high-rise building in Andheri's JP Nagar.
