KEY HIGHLIGHTS

England needed 5 runs off 10 deliveries, however, the batters messed it up as Pakistan took three wickets in six balls
Pacer Haris Rauf was named the player of the match for taking three wickets
So near yet so far for England, as the visitors failed to chase down 5 runs off 10 balls in the fourth T20I as the sea-saw 7-match series against Pakistan was levelled 2-2 going into the Lahore leg. At 130/7 and still needing 37 runs off 21 balls, it seemed like the game was over for England with just three wickets in the bag, however, Liam Dawson decided to go hell for leather against Mohammad Hasnain in the 18th over of the innings.
Hasnain kept missing his lengths and Dawson just found gaps and was able to hit through lines. A no-ball helped as the first four deliveries yielded 22 runs including four boundaries and a six. Dawson was on the verge of playing one of the greatest cameos by a lower-order batter, however, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf had other ideas.
Rauf too went for a boundary on the second delivery of his over but was quick to course correct as he dismissed the dangerous-looking Dawson on the very next delivery when England were still five runs away from the victory. Rauf banged in short, Dawson tried to pull it but extra pace resulted in his undoing and he ended up giving a simple catch to mid-wicket.
Even though England required just 5 runs off nine deliveries, the tail-enders had to do the job. Olly Stone, who was making his T20I debut got his off-stump knocked over as Pakistan started smelling victory. England scored just one runs in the two remaining deliveries and required four off the last over.
Another dot ball and the pressure starting mounting on the visitors. Reece Topley, who was on the strike only wanted to just tap and run, however, Shan Masood at short mid-wicket was ready as he quickly gathered and ball and hit the stumps as Pakistan got home with an unlikely victory.
The win that was setup by the batters with Mohammad Rizwan not able to stop scoring, with another half-century in his kitty was completed by the bowlers as Rauf ended up with three wickets while the likes of Mohammad Nawaz, Muhammad Wasim Jr. and Hasnain also chipped in.
